I don't know how they'd do o/s of zone 8b in the ground. bidwillii gets too big for pots, but the caesalpina is easily grown from seed (try banana-tree). The erythrina is a hybrid between crist-galli (crybaby tree) and herbacea (locally called mamou and used for cough syrup and other home remedies) and is sterile but grows from cuttings. It's in constant bloom from April through November here in So. La. with loooong spikes of bright red tubular floweres that drip nectar.
