Standard I have several greggi reds and the hummingbirds and butterflies are at them all the time.

The hummers love the greggii's and microphylla's I think they are one of the top ten hummer plants I loose my markers for the greggii's but I have a marachino and dark dancer furman's red also san carlos festival there isn't a single one the hummers don't use. Sarah

I wish these were winter hardy in my zone. They look really pretty.

Oubliette, a lot of them are hardy if they have good drainage. I bought a Wild Thing greggii that was advertised as having survived many years in Saint Louis.

Thanks, Birdgardner. If I can borrow a tiller next spring, I plan to prepare a planting bed devoted entirely to hummer plants and will try it.

This is my 2nd year with greggii and my first with microphylla, and I have to say I'm crazy about them. In fact, and this is going to get me trouble, I like them better than Black & Blue. Uliginosa and coccinea have more summer flower-power, but greggii and microphylla beat them on intensity of color. Maybe by next year, after most of the plants are winter killed, the honeymoon will be over, but for now, wow.
