I was starting to get discouraged myself I have 3 feeders out in 3 different locations around the house. And the other day I was out weeding in front and heard the "buzz" above my head, I quickly moved out and try to peek from around the corner, I never actually saw the hummer come back but I"m hoping at least now he knows there is a feeder in the tree and will stop by again....hey, do you have any idea how long you can leave the syrup..(the red stuff) out before having to change it? I have put mine out and didnt see any activity at all...so I'm wanting to make sure what is there is fresh...anyone know it's outdoor "shelf" life?

I have not had hummers all summer. Lately, I have seen one maybe once a day or every other day. I have kept diary every year and this has been the worst year for them. I don't know why. I don't leave it out more than 2 days. The red wasps have fun with it.

Hummers are around in places people don't notice unless they actually set out feeders. They are there, but most peple don't realize it. You need feeder stations to know where to notice them. :)
