Very nice Texas ! That looks like another one of your Broad-Billeds ,what other kind of hummers do you get? I imagine you get several in your area.

Those feeders are just toooooo cute! I think I might try something like that this winter. Where did you buy your stoppers? I was thinking those glass tubes that cigars come in would work also.

Stephen, We get lots of buffs and ruby throated too. Haven't seen any of the ruby throated since April though.

Birdlegs, I got the yellow stoppers from a store on the internet that another member had linked to on one of my initial postings about these insulin bottle feeders. They are from the Perky Pet company and called replacement feeder parts...they come 9 to a pack for something like $2.99. The red stoppers I pulled off some Opus Gem Series feeders that Lowe's had. The plastic container had cracked on one...and there was a mismatched set of three so I talked the manager into letting me take them all off his hands...real cheap!

I want to try making some out of test tubes also...but I need to think that out with regards to the stoppers and whether the rubber ones that can be bought for test tubes can be incorporated to hold a feeding tube or maybe feeder parts like those I've been using on the insulin bottles. Am thinking I can drill a hole in the rubber stopper and make the feeder parts fit. I need to find test tubes first :o)

Cat - If you can find silicone stoppers, that might be better, although they are hard to come by. They often sell boxes of test tubes at some of the educational-focussed science and hobby stores that have increasingly popped up in many malls - eg., "Zainy Brainy", etc. Places like Toys R Us usually sell chemistry or biology kits that have test tubes and stoppers included and many of the smaller kits are pretty cheap.

Cat - Thanks for posting the great pictures. I do not live in an area where I will ever see a Broad Billed, Buff Bellied or a Ruby Throat so this is great!

Cat I always enjoy your artistic ablilty. The pictures are so good and I love those little feeders.
