I can't say that my numbers have rebounded but I do at least have a few flying around on a steady basis and they are keeping me entertained.

Hopefully next year will be better.

No. I have had fewer hummers this year than ever. I am hoping to see more in the next few weeks as fall migration gets underway.

This year has been slightly better than previous years but certainly no more than 3 in one sighting.I have only been at this for 4 years.

The migration is on, they will come. However briefly.

This year the numbers are much higher. it's about equal to if not more than 2002. But regardless of that I know my lobelia cardinalis will not be as plentiful as this year or last year because it's not been as wet as 2003 and 2004. Sarah

I have not had more than one at a time, but there is almost always one every ten or fifteen minutes - my neighbors have a huge plot of Cleome, and have been feeding them for years, so I think they move back and forth - I dought that it is the same bird - but they mostly look like juveniles or females - I had males in the spring but they are gone - but at least they know where I am! During the migration it should improve a little - mostly eating from plants - I think that they use her feeder -

Other than coastal New Jersey in late August, I know of no one who gets a dozen let alone two dozen hummingbirds at once. A good year for me, and this has been a good year, is more in the half dozen range or slightly higher. Anything higher than that and I'd probably think I was in SE Arizona. You are fortunate to have that many Ruby-thoats.

I would have to agree, ward! The 20-24 is on a good day, but my hummers are going through about 50 oz a day. Pleasant surprise, given the rocky late start. I would love to find a feeder with say 12-14 feeding stations.
