Thanks! I had located these numbers on the Internet; I'm working through them now. May have found someone in Cobb County- fellow in Ellijay doesn't work with hummers. Just checked on lil'one -think it's a juvie ruby-throated female- no red patch yet but white tips on feathers. Fed it again and changed tissue underneath in nest to get rid of wet tissue from mis-feed. I'm hoping, hoping that mom will come back for this fledging. Fingers crossed!

Excellent news! Neighbor called to say that bird had left the homemade "nest"- it was sitting on a coneflower. We watched it as we weren't sure if it was strong enough to fly. When I moved around to look at the "nest" - it was perched on a near-by shrub - the bird took off! We think we've spotted its true nest in a nearby sycamore tree. Maybe the bird stunned itself this a.m. by flying into sidelight of neighbor's door- the door is about 12-15 feet from where we originally found it.

Tzunun, Question, I was told years ago that you have to give them,moistened Cat food, to keep them going until you can get them to a rehabber, True, or False?
