lol! never thought of that Mimidi...because I have so much hair, it takes two sets and one is white and the other a bright blue similar to b&b's so maybe that was it cuz I've used the white set a lot but just got the new blue and it was the first time using it!
Yes Blue, they are too cute and they just know how to make our day!

They are very inquisitive little creatures and ya just gotta luv 'em! One of mine comes to the patio doors every morning to look inside if I am not outside. She just hovers in fron to the glass at about eye level and she isn't phased by me walking over to say good morning to her. then she usually flys a few feet over to the closeline and sits there until I come out. I can go out with my coffee and she will sit there for a good 15 minutes while I talk to her until either another hummer comes to disturb her guard or until she is ready for more nectar.
This little one has personality plus. She stays in the yard most of the day and only goes to the perimeter to chase another bird or to roost at night.

Penny - I've been getting more and more of that coming to and/or peeping through my windows and doors recently. It was funny but yesterday evening, when one flew up to the feeder and then was starting on the Agastache, I grabbed my camera to try to get a good focus on her. When I finally focussed, she was gone... or so I thought! When I looked up from the camera, there she was about 12" from my face outside at the closed sliding glass doors. She was hovering and staring at me as if to say - "What the heck are you doing????? I'm right here!" LOL

I was so taken back by her having suddenly appeared right in front of me, once my deer in the headlights reaction had ended and by the time I had the camera turned back on with me fumbling at the settings to try to capture her right where she was, she had already impatiently flew off (probably laughing all the way because I missed a great closeup shot of her)!

Hi Glo... aren't those experiences just the greatest?? I now put on my red sundress so that I can sit on the step of the porch and really be close to them. Jenny,, I had a similar experience,,, was sitting on the step playing around with the digital,, when all of a sudden I heard a noise/ snapped a pic/ and it was soooo close to the camera it came out all fuzzy...but what an experience :o)

Here she is sitting right on the closeline. I just took this one after my last post. I was only about 3 1/2 ft from her in my usual spot at the patio table but I haven't figured out how to do good closeups and not have them blur out on me.

This I think was the same little one who laughed at me at the door. She finally perched on a leaf stem attached to a branch of my plum tree. It took me some time to even find her from my position inside, then center the camera viewfinder on that spot, zoom in to the max (the branch was about 10ft away), hold it steady, and finally snap. Fortunately she hung around at that spot for a good long time as I continued to stuggle! LOL

Ok...can someone tell me how to put the picture in the post instead of just with the link... I use photobucket, but it's smarter than me, I think!!! Help.

I don't think you can put the picture in the post with photobucket but I am not sure. You can use tinypic.com to do it. That is what stan uses and it is very easy. Click on the browse button to find your picture then click on the picture you want to upload and when the url for your computer where the picture is stored shows up click on the button on tiny pic that says HOST PICTURE. Then scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see your picure. Copy and past the image tag url into your post and the image shoud be there.

You can do the same thing with photobucket. They give you three different types of links with each picture... the middle one is the Image (img=...) link you cut and paste that right below the text you type here on the forum and then the picture will be in the post...

That is a great story!!! I am truly amazed at how curious and bold hummies can be.

I have a small pink pig whirly fan pull hanging from one of the ceiling fans on my backporch that is closest to the feeders. The hummies come up under the porch to check it out whenever they can't find the feeders I've taken down to clean and re-fill.

They are really so cute to watch...but I've never been fast enough to get a photo of them checking that piggy whirly fan pull out!

That's a cute story! They are very inquisitive. One day a couple weeks ago I had on a red tank top and was standing at my kitchen sink, where I can see the feeder on the back porch straight ahead out the window. One of the hummingbirds flew right up to the window, looking at me as if they wanted to get to my shirt LOL

Yesterday I was in the garden with hubby, and we were crouched down looking for monarch caterpillars on the swamp milkweed, when all of a sudden two hummingbirds zoomed right into the middle of the milkweed plant right in our faces, and stayed for about 15 seconds as if they wanted to see what we were doing! LOL but they were pretty much chasing each other after that.

I love these little ones and they are getting to be so active and fight all day long trying to sneak into the feeders and flowers...lets see if this works with my resident male

and his would be lady...

Those are terrific shots! I just put up 2 pics in the gallery but mine aren't very good. It is rather cloudy and overcast here but I am not a good picture taker either LOL!

I think your pictures are just wonderful! I always forget to check out the gallery...gotta make a mental note about that!
My hubby who loves birds and birding as much as I do took these, or they'd be really bad too. Our walls are covered with pictures of birds, flowers, waterfalls, and nature that he's taken and we've framed. For every dollar he spends on camera's, computers and printers, I benefit big time! He says these aren't his best either.

Penny - your pictures were just fine! I like the perching picture as it's so funny how they sit there and casually look around and then will suddenly explode into a chase if anything comes near! LOL

Jenny you are so right. The funny thing with her is that she sneaks back to the old clothesline and if I don't spot her right away she starts chittering at me until I turn around and spot her and say something. Then she sits there quietly until another distraction comes along or she need nourishment.
