When you put in a Google search for Pagoda, you come up with many hits. So I don't know which one you are talking about.

Maybe the one that you are talking about is the Clerodendrum paniculatum which is in the Verbenaceae family.

Then there is the Downy Pagoda-Plant Blephilia ciliata which is considered to be a noxious plant.

And then there is the Chinese Pagoda a/k/a Spotted Bee Balm Monarda punctata.

So it is hard to say which "Pagoda" that you are referring to without knowing the botanical name. Maybe it is one of the above.

Where I work at, we have a patio where we eat our lunch. Surrounding the patio is alot of the Clerodendrum paniculatum. I have seen many butterflies and about every other day we see hummingbirds visiting these plants. They do sucker alot, so I am going to bring some home for my hummers! They do seem to love them! nova

Have several pagoda plants which the hummingbirds and butterflies visit frequently. Also find fire spike to be
a great hummingbird attractor. Pagodas do sucker but not
invasively, are quite attractive - reach 4 - 5 feet tall.

Tom, I just came upon this post. Did you ever find this plant? It is indeed quite attractive to the hummingbirds and butterflies. I live in the Brandon/Valrico area and would be glad to share some with you. I am thinning the garden this year. Let me know.

I live in trinidad and Tobago ...in the caribbean.. i have pagoda plants in my garden and they do attract hummingbirds and butterflies. They flower alot and continuously. Beautiful plants.
