Yes they seem to show off their little personalities a bit more when they are perched. I like shooting her when she is sitting still the most.

Thank you Minnie. I am not much of a picture taker with any subject and hummers are just that much harder for me but lil bit sits so still and is hard not to get at least one fairly decent shot.

Penny, those are excellent photos! I just visited the gallery to see them. You have beautiful flowers as well! I haven't gotten proficient enough with manual settings and the auto focus doesn't work as well with hummers as it does with other birds.
