Nice shots. No Im still seeing males throughout the day . I understand that the birds we are seeing now though are not the same birds we saw a month ago . For they are migrating and we are seeing birds that were north of us that are tanking up before moving south. steve

Yesterday, I got my first male. Not the best picture in the world, but I was still thrilled to know there was a male around.

My camera is a couple of years old by now and I'm sure there are updated ones. I'm still learning all the stuff on this one. It's a Canon Sure Shot S1 IS.

Hello, I live near Columbia, South Carolina and I'm also a newbie. I've had a feeder up all season and am growing lots of hummer-attractive plants. I used to see just one mated pair in the garden, but now there are several others. They fuss with one another like crazy -- their bickering reminds me of Ralph and Alice, it's so comical (oops, did I just date myself?).

Is it possible I'm seeing babies raised by the original pair, or is it more likely the newcomers are heading south?

Same time, next evening, Mr. Ruby Throat returns and the light is perfect to show him off.
