It likes my autumn sage!

I just finished my backyard, and was hoping to attract hummers. I knew there was one that fed from a feeder in my neighbor's yard. The autumn sage I planted has attracted it. A few evenings ago my husband saw it feeding and said, "We have to plant some more of that stuff." This morning I was in the backyard and it came within about 2 feet of my face! I was shocked by the face to face meeting. I just stood and let it look at me. Do you suppose it was seeing if I was friendly? I hope it has decided that I am harmless so I can get pictures!

Hummies are just naturally curious little creatures as well as being very agressive for their tiny size. I think they are curious about us and also want to intimidate us so we don't take over their nectar sources LOL!

Sher - LOL! Maybe it was checking you out for feeder ports! Makes me wonder when a woman goes outside with red lipstick on, whether she might suddenly find a hummer, beak at the ready, right in her face!

Penny, I like to think it was just saying hello and thanking me for the new food source.

Jenny, That is so funny to think about! Now I will always think of that whenever I see a woman with red lipstick. No red of any kind on me today. It could have also been saying, "It's about time!" LOL We moved here just over a year ago, and we completely cleared the backyard. The only things growing during the renovation were in containers on the patios. It is so nice to see something other than dirt now!!

My Grandma was here the other night as told me she has a mother and two babies in her yard right now!
