If I'm seeing right, it looks like it is towards the top of an upright branch on the right-hand side of the shrub, the branch situated right next to the left edge of one of the aborvitaes. LOL

It's a lilac bush. The brown stuff you see is the dead flowers from spring. It is right at the corner of my house and the hummers often hide there waiting for me to go away. They also do something rather odd. They'll fly up and down the sides of the arbivitae, like they're looking for something. I haven't figured this behavior out.

Okay... I have 2 lilacs that I didn't deadhead and wasn't sure. And their flying up and down might be them looking for a bug meal to fly out of them or maybe there other other birds nesting in them that they're checking them out.

Yes! Neat pic. The hummingbirds' favorite perches in my yard are the clothesline that runs along my back porch posts, the overhead line going to our backyard lightpole, the small forsythia bush, and the shepherd's hook.
