Beets problems

My first attempt to grow beets is a complete loss. I planted "Tall Top Early Wonder" when the weather got cooler, and they germinated fast. Next, I had dumping problems that took a half of them. The rest of them seem to remain at the same size during the last month. They just don't grow no matter what I do! I added an organic fertilizer and later another one, I keep them moist, I spayed them with daconil, but they just refuse to increase in size! They still have only 2 first leaves and don't look good. Next to them is cabbage and kohlrabies and they are doing good.

Are there some varieties that you guys tried and they did well here in Florida? Any tips are appreciated!

Thanks,

ana
