Strange helmet color?

Hey all,

One of my female hummers has a VERY distinctive bright, light green helmet. I have been noticing her all year and nicknamed her "Baldy". I thought she had gray on top of her head but got a close look today and it was definitely bright, light green. None of the other hummers in my yard have this (she has been here all year so would be breeding age but no juvies have this helmet), so if she did breed, I don't think she passed this on.

How common is this? Is this a Ruby-throated?

Will post a pic if I can get her to sit still for a moment. This one is a little camera shy.

OK,the picture is a LITTLE out of focus, but you can clearly see the bright helmet. This IS NOT a trick of light or strange refraction. What is see is exactly what is there, from any angle, all the time. What % of birds have markings like this?

It do look a little strange! I had one with a white head last year. I called it whitehead. This year I have one with a white patch on the left side of it's head. I also have one with a big patch of white on it's wing. Must have something to do with the pigment of it's feathers.
