Look what I found open this morning. Has a sweet smell but not strong. I have to stick my nose up to it to smell it. It is full of buds. I had to bring it in Friday as the temps were going down into the High 30's.
Very pretty blooms, if it's Hoya calycina you will know tonight because it's supposed to be a very powerfully fragrant species. White flowered plants are almost always night fragrant because they are evolved to attract moths. You will have to let us know if the fragrance gets stronger.
Do you have a photo of the leaves of your plant? I have a feeling that my Hoya calycina is growing in too shady a location so a comparison to a blooming plants leaf would help me decide. The leaves on my plant are always soft and I wonder if they would have more structure if the plant got more light.
Its Beautiful Dee! So what's the difference? When I googled them both...the blooms sure looked similar to each other...must be the leaves? I read Calycina has velvety leaves does magnifica?
