Hi Alan. My guess is that the cool weather is slowing down the process. I have Sweet 100s that are really loaded with fruit but they are slow to color up. I'm getting some but I too feel like it's taking longer then usual.

I think we have been lucky to only have had a dusting of very light frosts here so far, I covered the plants with sheets through the coldest days and nights and ran strings of Christmas lights under the sheets during the cold nights. Maybe that is why I'm getting a few red ones?

It's the lack of overnight heat (low temps at night). I recently moved the tomato plants that I had planted in pots, in with my tropical plant heated greenhouse tent because of frost concerns, have already started to color up. The heater temp low setting is 55F plus or minus 3 degrees (it doesn't go below 50F).

Thanks for the replies - I guess there's nothing for it but to be patient. It's warmed up here a bit, but getting cold again on Monday. Nothing like the freezing temps further north, though...

Yup, Monday night it will be back to the drill with the sheets and Christmas lights. I sure hope it turns out to be worth the trouble.
