From what I have seen. You have to have hordes of hummers in order to get multiples to use the feeders at the same time. In that way they are more concerned about getting their turn than fighting or defending the feeders from other hummers.

Alena, Usually it's during migrating season, when there is more than one dominant bird around in an area.

Last year, where I lived, I had the only flowers and feeders in the neighborhood. Don't ask me why nobody else planted for them, but it was an OLD housing area and I guess nobody cared. Anyway, I had nine babies all summer and the juvies and females shared for the most part and I would have more than one at a feeder all the time. Now where we live, there are several yards with flowers, and feeders. Have not had two on a feeder yet and they chase each other all the time. Maybe it's just a matter of supply and demand? As of this morning, my 3 are still hangin with me!
