That's great Penny! I have only seen two juveniles I think the same two that have been around for a week or two. They chase each other as much as they eat but it won't be long because they both are getting fatter each day. Sarah

This weekend we had another migrating male...what a beauty he was! Saw one last weekend for a couple of hours and then again Saturday morning one came up to my B&B while I was waking up with my morning coffee. It was such a pleasant surprise!!! I hope they come back hale and hearty next spring.

Glo my yard was busy most of the week end. Now here it is Monday morning and things have slowed way down again. I had two females here this morning. One before it was fully light out and the other showed up just after daylight. They were sparring for a few minutes then off to the plants but haven't seen neither since.

Blank spots like last evening and this morning indicate to me that it's migrants that I'm seeing. The cypress vine, which currently has thousands of flowers, is a sure morning indicator; if there isn't a bird on station it means there is nothing around.

Conditions over the mid Atlantic region have been ideal for migration since the 3rd of September - light north and northwest winds. Our migrant trap along the Delaware River had been very active. Over the past two weekends we've recorded hundreds of warblers of at least 25 species, and a wide array of other neotropical migrants. In fact it has been so good that it has reminded us of the good old days before the migrant crash of the 1990s. With the warblers and thrushes and flycatchers come the hummingbirds, all told hundreds of millions of birds heading south across America.
