Hummingbird Photos

Hi all Â. New guy here. I have been posting over on the bird watching forum for a couple of weeks now and finally stuck my head in here. I have enjoyed reading all the posts very much. The home made feeder by ctnchpr Â. Wow! And so much great advice, really great.

I enjoy taking bird photos, mostly in the wild, but I do have feeders at the house. I wanted to share some of my hummingbird images, some from local parks and wildlife refuges and a few from our feeders. Hope that is acceptable and that folks enjoy them.

These are beautiful....the male on the feeder is gorgeous!

What is the backdrop of the last few?

Thanks for the comments, very much appreciated. The background is just the backyard at my home. I used a very shallow depth of field for the photos, it is a good ways to the tree/shrub line at the back of the property, so it just makes a wash color, almost like having a backdrop.

Great pics, Bob!!! I especially like the 2 at the canna flowers. Those are so hard to get - you have to quick!

wow. I was excited about my pictures but those are really good. How close were you or did you have a telephoto lens?

I have two pictures of a little guy that flew into my french door window. He was stunned for a little while I was able to pick him up and take these photos before he flew off...the other male that he was chasing hit the glass first and didn't make it. I will post the pictures but I don't see how to. If any one is interested please tell me how to put them up here and I will. Bob these pictures are great. I like the one with the lily the best.
