I don't know the specifics of hybridizing brugmansias, but I can probably help you anyway. Making hybrids with ANY type of plant is pretty much the same. Here is the basic way to make any hybrid you want.
First, look at the flower and indentify all the parts. Usually in the center will be the pistil which is the female part of the flower, around that the stamens, the male part of the flower, and around all that the petals. To make a hybrid, first emasculate a flower by removing all the stamens before they have released their pollen. Then cover the flower with a bag or something to keep beed from coming in and making their own hybrids. Then take the stamens from the other parent of the hybrid, and dust the pollen onto the pistil. Then just wait until the fruit ripens, harvest and sow the seeds!

That is very true, but with brugs they are not usually self fertile and need another kind to cross with. One pod I have now is not quite ripe and its been 6 months and could take up to 9. My cross is Jutner orange with frosty pink.

Contact the American Brugmansia and Datura Society, they have a full section dedicated to hybridizing Brugmansia. In addition, there is a very good book on the subject "Brugmansia et Datura" by Ulrike and Hans-Georg Preissel. There is a English version of this book that you might be able to find in the ABADS pages.
