Went a week without seeing one and then....

21 years ago

tonight while I was making dinner, a sweet little female showed up. I hadn't changed the nectar lately since I hadn't seen any. Well, as soon as I saw her, I made up a fresh batch and the next trip back she got some good stuff. She's been out there at least 5 times since I refilled the feeder.

I'm sure she's on her way south. Anyone up in NY send her here???

When you have migrating birds stop, do they stay a while, or only visit the feeder a few times and move on?

Deb maybe that is one of my babies. I had two head out about 7 a.m. Or it could be one of mine that left on Friday. Sometimes they will hang around a day or two if they have found a rich food source.

She's still here this morning. It's kind of cute because she sees us thru the window and thinks maybe she should flee, but that nectar is good and she stays. She's been visiting at close intervals, filling up. It's so nice to see one after a week of empty feeder.
