They were SHARING!

I actually SAW two RT females sharing the feeder today! I think these are my last two for the season, the funny thing is I have 2 feeders one has wasps all the time the other dosen't seem to be bothered by them. I think the hummers have declaired a truce because they are tired of having to fight off the wasps and they know they need to get fattened up quickly. I feel so lucky to have seen this!

I have had two hummers share a feeder this year it is the first time I have seen them share, I have seen them share a feeder twice this year I have had four hummers chasing each other, they are so much fun to watch I sure will hate to see them leave but I don't want them to get cold.

Yes, sometimes hummers do share, even in tank-up time.

Several times lately I've seen two hummers at a time on my several feeders - until a third one buzzed them and they all scattered. The two looked like they were directly eyeing each other all the time, just to be sure it was safe to take a few quick drinks. It did not last long, but I've seen it happen.

Yep, caught it on video myself not too long ago...it was very cool! Just at sunset...figured they were just worn out from fussing all day.

Jane, Thanks for the great video! I guess that you escaped the hurrican. I have a feeder just like yours and the other day there were 3 on it. I could not believe my eyes. I think they are getting ready to head south and they are packing on the calories that they don't care. The last three mornings have been like that.

Isn't it wonderful to see them sharing! Wouldn't you just love to tell them "you could eat so much more if you didn't spend all that time fussing with each other!"

I had to play the last one three times for Sammy my cat who naps in front of the computer. He never watches TV but this was "Special" Thanks so much!!
