Don't know where you are in FL, but this is normal for this time of year. As my population was decreasing, they spent less and less time at the feeder. My one female left behaves the same way. She appears early in the morning briefly and late in the afternoon. I never see her during any other time of the day. You'd think she would be loading up on nectar, but not so at my feeder! Is your hummer a male? My males have been long gone!

I think it's a male. He comes so early just barely light so he's hard to see.

Who can say what is normal for a hummer its only what they do. For example, during the first week of oct. the hummers passing thru here would stop at my window feeder briefly and move on. Then the next week it seems they would only use my flowers and havent even touched a feeder, but they would still move on. But the last couple or three days I have been having a young female hang around and guard this yard against challengers and there has been some.
