Oh my gosh!!! A few mintues ago as I was looking out the window I saw a hummer. Thought they left October 4, as I hadn't seen one since then, but I have been seeing something very small zipping by. I was thinking this can't be, and maybe it's really a chickadee because it didn't bother to stop and take a sip of anything. Guess I was wrong. Good thing I still had the feeder out there. I suppose it could be a migrant. Had to make another batch of nectar. It's cooling right now.

I'm in southeast VA. I've still got my feeders up but have not seen any in several weeks. Sure had a good turn out this summer though. They are a real joy to watch and are quite friendly little birds. I put out feeders every year and really look forward to their arrival in the spring.

Isnt that neat! So good to hear someone still has them. The last time for me was Oct 6 but I havent given up on seeing another thou, the ole die-hard spirit.. I just refreshed my feeders yesterday, so Im ready.
