An excellent photo. I saw that hummingbird in Ecuador, but your picture is a better view than I had in person.

Wow! That's quite a spectacular photo. As you probably know, we unfortunates in the eastern USA have only one regularly occurring species of hummingbird. Now that winter is approaching, they've left for warmer, more "flowery" climes. How many species do you see in your immediate area? I imagine it's quite a few. I'm envious!

Of course, our native Ruby-throated Hummer is quite lovely, and I like the fact that it is one of the smaller species. Although perhaps not quite the ultimate in spectacular hummingbirds, it can hold its own in a beauty contest. But still, I envy the diversity of hummingbirds and birds, in general, that you must see in Colombia.
