That is an incredible photo! It almost looks like it has a little dusting of pollen between the eyes :)

We have a similar fiesty little guy here, he's been guarding and hoarding for weeks now - 2 feeders. I even find him right in my face if I'm doing something close the feeders. Just within the last few days he seems to be relenting just a little and letting two others feed occasionally. When I first saw them I thought he had really changed his tune (squeaks) and had learned to share, but no, it was two different birds eating together and the backyard watchdog was in his viburnum perch giving them a little break :)

What species is he? What others do you have there?

Thanks for the compliments you guys :) I see Anna's, Rufous, and Costa's mostly. This looks like an Anna's. And that is pollen. There are still plenty of sources around here.

I was about 10 feet away for that one. I was lucky he picked such an accessible perch :)
