Hello Paminpa. On the first year or two, you have to keep an eye on soil moisture, especially during the hot summer months (or during dry winters when the soil does not freeze). Mulch them well with about 3-4" of mulch at all times. They cannot tolerate water in the roots so choose a location where the soil drains well.

My favorite type of hydrangea :-) I find them very easy to grow (but then ALL hydrangeas tend to do well in my climate). They also tend to be more sun tolerant and more drought tolerant than many other types of hydrangeas, once established.
