Try placing a new Bounce dryer sheet into the center of the plant. I've found that stuffing them into things/places where wasps like to next repels them, It may work to keep them away from the impatiens.

Bounce dryer sheets really work?

I'm in the NYC area, have containers on my terrace full with thriving impatiens and pesky yellow jackets that are intent on hanging out. No sign of any aphids or honeydew, can't figure out what the attraction is?

I want them gone. Deathly afraid of getting stung... allergic.

They are back!

Same problem here in Virginia...they aren't nesting, just walking around on the leaves EVERYWHERE! Crazy?

same problem in PA.... But like maybe Carol was referring to, they are EVERYWHERE this year. Stung more times than I can count, mean things!!!
