A tad small for my tired eyes to see. Can you post larger pix please?

Sorry about that. Had problems finding a free site to host the images -- they limit the size without a paid membership. You can see a larger version here of the bad leaves at the link below but I can't embed the image in this message. Again, just two or three branches are like this, all on one side of the plant. Thanks!

It looks like "witch's broom." I think it can be caused by several factors. It can be also be a sign of disease similar to Aster Yellows. Here's an article about Aster Yellows. Hydrangea is one of the plants effected by this disease.

Has anyone sprayed Round-up in that general region? Sometimes a whiff drifts over on a breeze and contacts part of the plant. That can deform the leaves--at least it can on other plants, so I assume it can on hydrangea also.

If that might be the case, cut off the bad branches and wait for new growth--which should be normal.

I, too, think it looks like Round-up that drifted over to the plant.

Well, dh *was* wielding the roundup, but I didn't think he got near Limelight. He's out of town on business, so has a reprieve until he gets back I'm relieved that it's probably not some dread disease, though. Thank you!!!!
