I goggled and they are gorgeous! Do they like shade? Will they tolerate a warmer zone 7?

Thought I'd answer the last question.

I live in zone 8, British Columbia, on woodland property with lots of tall trees and mostly shade in our gardens. Our lowest temperature last winter was -10c.
The Impatiens glandulifera (Himalayan impatiens) self-seed all over the place every year. The seeds explode to an amazing distance away from the mother plant. You can hear the seeds landing all over the garden when the capsules explode. It's cool. The seeds overwinter on the ground and come up as new plants starting in the spring. Many of them grow up to 10' tall at our place. It grows in any type of soil but I noticed the tallest ones get afternoon shade and the soil is moister. They like it on the cool side. They're very easy to pull up if you don't want them to grow in certain areas. We let most of them grow to maturity as they have a tendency to take over dead areas where most other things won't grow. We love that plant.

Impatiens glandulifera are great, and self-seeds every year in
Norway, and tolerate -20C -30C with no problems at all.
