I know one guy that used that in his aquaponics system and in the winter the water not only froze one top but also on the sides. So if you live in a place that has ice and snow then make sure you have a pond heater. That's the only downside I could think of (because there's a chance that the ice will expand and split the pool), although i have never tried it. I have done some research and I know there's a lot of people that use those as ponds. I say for $60 it's worth the trial!

A pool would be disastrous for me here. Between the UV and the winter freezes. You can get transfer totes on a skid (250 gallon) for around $100 was the best that I have seen around here anyways. I still think that it is cheaper and more eye appealing to buy pond liner and make your own setup.

Yes, we have those totes here for about $75.00 each. My first thoughts were to use 4 or 6 of them. Could you direct me to a site, on how to build a wood framed pond liner setup.

I was thinking about just digging a hole and using the ground temps to help control the pond. Not sure about building an above ground setup without looking it up on the .net.

I'm thinking no chance of freezing in my Zone 8 washington, in the greenhouse. Uv maybe a deterrent. I'm thinking a tank 4ft wide, 3ft deep and 12ft long would fit best with my greenhouse. I'll have to search the net for plans.
