Stinky lacewing

I had a lacewing accompany me into the house the other night. It landed on the wall and, knowing it to be a beneficial bug, I caught it in my hand to take it back out. Holy smoke was that a mistake. It let off a stink you wouldn't believe. After washing my hand three times and then applying some of that waterless hand sanitizer, I finally got rid of most of the stench. I did not know lacewings did that for defense. Peeeeeee-uuuuu!! Needless to say if one flies into the house again I'll be catching it in a cup or some such. Blech!
