The forest looks so inviting, it draws you in and beckens you to walk below its canopy.

I just dream about gardens like yours!!!Your pond on the other posting, the rocks.....! How big is your property? Looks like you have forest around. Amazing job!I envy even the snow with the sunshine too. Here in Vancouver we have rain, rain, rain. Please, share more pictures with us.

Thanks, Andrea. The snow picture didn't show what I was trying to capture as I am not much of a photographer. The sun was warming the pines and snow was falling from the branches in sparkling drifts - you can see some cloudiness in the center. I am lucky to have about 4 acres, but it is surrounded by another 300 acres of protected forest. You may have rain, but in January, my rhododenron will be curled tight trying to survive sub-zero wind and the ones in Vancouver will be happy and growing.

Here is a picture of my latest project when I had just finished the frame - a Machiai style building built from found cedar logs and oak saplings. With round pole joints and through tenons, it took a little longer than I had hoped.

I'll finish the cedar roof before long but the mud plaster walls won't go on until spring. For scale, the stone wall is 5' high and the building frame is 5X8 with a roof area of 9X12 feet.
