Tomato curls.

I recently planted some tomatoes from seed in a new drip system under a 1000w hps. Noticed that 3 of my 10 tomato plants were becoming quite sad.

I have been doing quite a lot of reading and a lot of people seem to think this may be a case of over feeding (nutrients). So today I went ahead and flushed my system and am only using the minimal amount of nutes.

I have a Truncheon PPM/EC meter being shipped to me as I type this. Hopefully I can come to a conclusion whether this degregation in life is due to nutes or something else.

Have any of you seen anything like what I am seeing in the picture?

Hi,

Your plants are showing signs of either over feeding or heat stress. Your light should always be atlweast 18inch away from the plant unless you have enclosed air cooled lights, your nutrient ec level should read on young plants like you photo ec 8-10 and when mature increase upto about EC18, it is always worth remebering that it is always best to under feed than over feed as you can always increase you feed but cant bring back a dead one.

Check out the curling leaves on my tomato plants. I think it's just Magnesium deficiency... Added 1 Tbsp/Gal Epsom Salt to correct this problem. I will report back on new growth.

PS - mrkz, imho your photo doesn't look like heat stress due to the lack of burn marks on your plants. Many micro-nutrient deficiencies can lead to twisting leaves. From my understanding (correct me if I'm wrong) - calcium and magnisium deficiencies can lead to curly twisted leaves.
