Irises without roots

Hello,

today I noticed that some of my SDBs that I planted last summer (August) can easily be pulled out of the ground. Then I saw that they have no new roots at all. The old roots are dead and mushy but the rhizomes are still firm (no sign of rot). What can I do now? Is there any hope that they will develop new roots this spring and survive? Should I pot them up and take them into the house (we still have freezing temperatures in the night)?

Greetings from Germany

Anja
