Susanne: I looked up Planned Treasure on the Internet - wow, is it ever beautiful! Celebration Song does look a lot like it, but the colours appear more "washed out" on the photos I saw. Your question: "Is there an iris that grows well?" My answer is: "Check out the old varieties - in the front gardens in the old part of your town. When you see one you like, see if the owner will give you a little piece. The older the variety, the more hardy it is". At least, that is my feeling.

I don't know anything about 'Planned Treasure'.

Have you tried 'Celebration Song'? It grows like a weed for me and is covered in blooms every year. I used it in crosses last year for it's vigor alone. It's tall and the flowers are large and last a long time here, but it's reliability is what makes me appreciate it.

It's made a nice clump every year since it settled here.
