Click on the small link to "Gallery" at the top of the message list. As you go through the process of making a post to the Gallery, you will have the opportunity to upload a photo. Photos must be no larger than 60 kb in order to post to the Gallery.

I thought you had to be in 'Preview Message' to get the upload message.

Did a test run and I'm not seeing it with my browser (Opera).

Most people are uploading their re-sized pics to an image-hosting site. Then they can be bigger then 60 Kb. Auggh! I try to keep mine close to 100 Kb.

An excellent free hosting site is http://photobucket.com
Directions are at the site.

iris gal why would you want to increase to 100 kb. I have Broad Band ( Cable) and still try to keep file size under 50. Large file sizes make dial up people wait too long to see. I know some dial up only get 20 Kilobits.

This is my iris FOGGY MORNING 2008
864 x 648 30 kb
Great size for web viewing
not good for printing

Tell me why it would need to be larger.

Mike,

Sometimes I get one resized to 60Kb that looks good. Most of the time I lose too much detail for my liking. I really try to stay small since I'm on dial-up!

I'm amazed at the fantastic quality Robin, and others, achieves with the 10mp XTi --- pics under 60 Kb and fantastic detail shows!

This season I hope to try size comparison with the 5mp and 3mp cameras --- to find out if it's easier to achieve smaller pics with the larger mp camera.

Mike G: Foggy Morning is beautiful! Are you saying it is in bloom now? I see the year 2008 next to the name. If so, I am very envious - my iris beds are currently buried under at LEAST a full yard of snow.

Thank you but the 2008 is the year of introduction. It was covered last week with over a foot of snow, no blooms. Photo is from last year. The Photo was for an example. Iris are blooming in the south AZ for one.
