we are re-modeling a whole house and we would like to take one corner of the yard to place my jap maple in and a plant we saved from the garden that has a bonsi look to it and place them in this new corner garden and create a jap garden... i like quan yin (sp) but i would like to know what other plants are suitable....this whole yard will eb completely fenced in for my 2 small kids, to behind this garden will be a 6' tall wood fence, was thinking of clematis vine for fence...but what else can i plant with mystery shrub that looks like a cross between Mt Laurel and Pieris leaves.

i might do a small water feature, bamboo fountain or something in middle.
