Garden challenge

I am very enamored with Asian culture having spent a lot of time there (not military)and I have a fairly well "planted out" backyard with many (30+) exotic fruit trees and bushes.

What I'm trying to accomplish is an Asian look like having paths, boundary plants around the paths, small planted areas around my trees, perhaps some type of a water based addition like a koi pond.

Of course statues and lanterns will be needed too, but where to start? I* hope to find some native perennial plants too for use as described above.

Any ideas on locating things and suggestions for South Florida?
