Climbing Hydrangea

Hi all,

I have 5 hosta in a row in my front. Also, i have a climbing hydrangea in the middle. Can you tell me how big the roots get for the hosta... it seems to me that the hydrangea is not growing well.. I have another CH on the other side and its blooming.

Climbing hydrangea will look like it just sits still for literally three years or so. Then it will suddenly start growing. I have mine and it didn't grow AT ALL for over two years. LOL I thought it was a mutant but found out that is normal for them.

They are SLOW to get moving but once they do, they steadily keep on creeping.

Looks healthy and fine to me! As long as you keep it well mulched and watered and it isn't in scorching western sun (it prefers at *least* a partly shady location), it will do fine!

Sounds like yours is behaving completely normally.

Thanks for the lesson, Ademink. I didn't know that, and I've been thinking about a climbing Hydrangea to make DH happy.

He loves hydrangeas beyond reason.
