Not a problem. If you can wait a month after they finish blooming to dig them up with plenty of soil and just remember to amend the soil in their new home and make certain the corm is sticking out of the ground.

You will probably have to transport them soiless. They need to be planted as soon as possible in cold winter areas to establish a root system. 6-8 weeks before the first frost.

They are best moved in late July. Don't bother with soil. If you know what they are, write the information on a leaf with either a Sharpie or a paint pen. Once they are out of the ground, they all look alike. Plant them in as sunny a place as you can find, and make sure their back are basking in the sun. This really should be finished by the middle of August. I have yet to successfully overwinter a bearded iris I've planted after September 1st.
