Is this sunscald on my climbing hydrangea? They only get morning sun but we had a few days of near 100 degree heat last week. Should I clip the leaves or let it go?
Yup....sunscald....you can clip off the damaged leaves so it doesn't look so bad....try to keep it very moist on the days that are hot, since you will get reflective heat off your wall....
I was thinking the same thing about your wall! Last year we left our dahlias in the ground (usually dig them up every year) and the plants situated right in front of a stone foundation on the sunny side of the house came through our winter perfectly!! Just the row directly in front of the wall, the rest perished. So, in the hot summer, the wall can really jack-up the temperatures!!
