It's probably not even a named variety. The big box stores buy rhizomes of rejected seedlings from the big growers and put false names on them.

I believe this was from a nursery.. They have them inside by the register along with the boxes of freesias, dahlias etc... Most of the local nurseries sell them like this..
I actually saw a picture of the same iris on Dave's garden site.. So, I'm not the only one.. I do think this Iris is worthy of a name.. It's a good one for me here.
So, I'll just add Starship Enterprise to the list of Iris to buy again..

That's really frustrating!
I have a "historic iris" that doesn't look, on first bloom, like the photos. Not sure what to do with it. Will leave it in place to bloom again. Maybe the bloom from the established plant will be more like expected.
It could also be colors are different with climate and plant nutrition. And colors sometimes don't come true in photos. But you iris really does not look like Starship Enterprise.
Let the buyer beware.....

What ever it is its very pretty. I would have bought that in a heart beat. I have had Starship Enterprise for three years and no bloom yet. It came from Shrieners so I know I have the right one but it seems to like to rot.

I also bought Starship Enterprise from Shrieners. It tried to rot two different times, and never bloomed in four years. I shovel pruned it last year.

Rainbow High, which is supposedly an improved version of Starship Enterprise, did bloom for me, and it is a beauty.

I have wanted Starship Enterprise so badly .... but with so many people having lousy luck ... hmmm. And Schreiners send excellent stock. Drats.
