ID3 if possible

This one is true to color also. The standards are very beige with little yellow about 30"tall and big bloom.

Same iris, different photo

Is this Iris blooming toward the end of your Iris season? If it is, it might be LAST CHANCE.

I bought several packages 2 years ago at a box store of iris when they put them on sale. Being the person I am, I didn't get them in the ground so I potted them. Then left them in pots and promptly lost tags. I did buy edith wolford. So, I'm thinking you are correct. I'll label with a maybe by it even though I'd bet you are right.

I'm not familar with "last chance" and can not find a picture. I do a lot of trading for unknowns so, it could be, but I'm more prone to think it's edith wolford since I did purchase a pkg of it.

Thanks so much to you both, Mona

It looks like Edith Wolford to me too.

'Mother Earth' may be a possibility - Hager '87 I think.

Some of the photos aren't true to color at this link, but may give you a yea or nay.

Here is a link that might be useful: http://davesgarden.com/pf/go/35774/index.html

I highly doubt that it's Edith Wolford. EW has yellow standards and not beige. If you bought this at mart, such as Wal-Mart, Home-Depot or some supermarket, it's most likely not Edith Wolford, even though the package says it is.

mother earth has noticeable veining in the standards, but your pics looks nothing like mine color wise. ME is a very rich iris to me in color, ew is very pale in comparison. i have all mentioned ew, lc and me and only one i think its like is ew, BUT cameras make all the diff. last chance is also extremely late to bloom in the garden, almost my last in 1000 and a very vibrant blue.

If it came from a chain store, in a box marked Edith Wolford, then it is quite likely just an un-named seedling. It is rather pretty, but badly branched and only a few buds. If it always performs like that, this adds to my theory.

I have no problem with seedling rhizomes being sold as long as they are labeled correctly as far as just being a given color iris, but to sell these under a registered name is wrong and if I know which growers are doing this I will not buy any iris from them named or not. Lee Mincy

Here's 'Mother Earth'. It's standards do lack the yellow as mentioned in the original post (why it's not Edith Wolford) Five other photos match this one, and one was taken with a Sony. Don't know what camera took this.

It can't be Edith Wolford if the standards have a beige tint. EW definitely has a light lemon yellow tone to the standards, and could never be mistaken for a beige tone, regardless of light and camera.

Hello everyone, I thought I'd through a another obsticle in on the id of this one. By the second afternoon of this bloom, it was a very pretty pale yellow, standards that is. The first day it was definetly beige and the second pale yellow. I give up!!Whateever it is, I think it's pretty. I have really really learned a lot about ids from my posts. it has caused me to pay closer attention to the description of the iris. Have fun everyone. Even if we never get a true id on our unknowns, it's funs getting all the suggestions and looking at each others pictures. I read on another post about googling for an id. I had mentioned this earlier in one of my post. I googled Prissy Miss and came up with about 25 very different photos. I think for a collector of iris, this has to be a problem. Hope everyone has enjoyed the "ID" posts as much as I have. Blessing to all, Mona
