Camellia rusticana (C. japonica subsp. rusticana). Snow Camellia, from Hondo. Flowers said to open flat, have shorter stamens than C. japonica. FLORA, THE GARDENER'S BIBLE (Global Book Publishing, 2003) has a large photo of 'Botanyuki' on page 309.

My camellia is flowering again, the flowers are small but it had a hard life last year. We have moved it into lovely soil with shade from a buddliea that has grown up during the year. It is unusual that is for sure.
