There are several miniature varieties of lettuce. Last year I grew Tennis Ball and an heirloom called Tom Thumb. They can be grown with 6" spacing.

I ordered some winter density bib lettuce. A couple of different romaine's and some mini head, we will see what happens.

Put 100 ish of the winter density in rockwool tonight! We will see in about 35 days how they look. Hope they are the thing, because I bought 5000 seeds..

The Bavarian we are growing is nice but it gets tall in the last few weeks and wants to fall over.

Do you use a seeder? Dealing with the tiny lettuce seeds drives me nuts.

I wish, I do get pelleted though and use tweezers. Hardest part is covering them up. If this takes off we will likely make a vac seeder. Right now I am using 1 inch rockwool, but I am anxious to see it used up. I am ready to go back to the 1 1/2 it pots easier.
