Rio water pump trouble

I have a Rio 800 water pump that sputters and only provides flow to half the drip tubes it is connected to. It does this about 25% of the time on startup and runs that way until restarted. I took off the covers and cleaned/inspected the inside, but couldn't find any deposits. I reassembled, but still the same thing. There is no filter.

hmm, well if you took it apart and cleaned the fan blade etc, i'd say maybe you need a more powerful pump?

Do you know what the pressure and flow capacities of the pump are?

Do you know the pressure drop of the piping system?

Do you know the pressure drop of the emitters?

Do you know the elevation of the emitters above the pump?

This is going to take some work on your part........

Not knowing how old it is (not that it matters) I would say the bearings may be going out. When it is sputtering, try tapping on the side of the pump and see if that makes it spin up to speed.

Since there is no filter...could the emitters be plugged? If it improves after restarting, I'd bet on plugged lines or emmitters with no filter.
