The reason I asked about the length of time was because a friend had it for only 2 or 3 years. Don't know why it fizzled out on her. She wasn't a big gardener ........

I have had mine for 7 years and divided it into multiple clumps . Its seems to be a healthy enough plant that blooms almost every year unlike its offspring Blutique . Blutique has only bloomed twice for me in 7 years.

Batik didn't grow well for me here in W. Tn. It finally fizzled out and died.

Jump Jack Flash is a nice updated version of Batik.

I just got my first batik flower this year. Rhizome planted 2 years ago.

The flower is lovely, but doesn't last long. Just one flower. The plant is small, but looks healthy enough, just small.

It's such a beauty that I think it is worth babying the plant a little extra.
