Hydroponics and rain

I had no where else indoors to put my hydroponic drip system and didn't want to spend all that money on grow lamps, stands, or fans, so I have it outside on my patio under screen enclosure, and was wondering if rain would affect the system, should i out a cover on it or let it rain on it.

How much rain are we talking about? My outdoor system gets rained on about 3 times a season here in Mesa AZ. I just replaced the nutrient solution after the rains were finished. If it is small enough to conveniently cover, I would. Otherwise don't worry about it and just check/change the nutes afterwards.

Mine gets rained on, no big deal, I'm in Phoenix, not much rain here.

Besides, I change the water every 10 days or so.

In the summer, I'm always putting 3 gal a day in anyway.
