You can sprinkle coffee grounds directly on the soil and scratch them in or not, as you please. And you don't have to wait for them to age or anything. Unless you bury the plants, you won't hurt them with coffee grounds. And this is well tested. It's no experiment.

You can also use youre left over coffee
from the pot, it makes them take off like
crazy. I pour some left over coffee in my
plants everyday, I do rotate I make sure
that everyday to pour the coffee in a diffrent
location of the flower beds. They love it.

Check out the soil and compost forum. The composters love coffee so much they go to stores and collect the used grounds. I throw my grounds, paper filter and all on the compost pile and they disappear very fast. Good stuff! Thanks to Lori's idea, I'm going to pour any left over coffee directly on the soil around my plants.

How much coffee or grounds shoul dyou add to a 14" wide round pot? How often would it be safe to add them. The plants in these pots are pale and have not responded to liquid fertilizers.

on the leftover coffee, I take mine with milk, would that be ok to use?

Seems to me that milk won't hurt - I have been spraying my roses w/milk & water & they like it... supposed to help w/blackspot, but with the rainy summer we've had, it's an uphill battle!

I do know that earthworms love the coffee grounds but....Would flavored coffee grounds hurt? I use French Vanilla...I don't like regular...I know, I'm a sissy!
